Calvary is out and about in the community of Big Lick. Here are just a few ways we show our love for God:
prayer
Prayer is central in our mission of love. It connects us with our God, and opens our hearts and minds to the realities of the world. Through prayer, we engage the needs and joys of the community as well as our individual relationships with God, each other, and creation.
little free library
Cavary Presbyterian believes in the value of the written word, and we want to make sure everybody has access to good literature. In our mission to share God's love with the world we are hosting a little free library (littlefreelibrary.org). The library is up and running. Please share one of your old favorite novels with us.
community
Calvary isn't just in Big Lick. Calvary is Big Lick. Every year we host a wide range of events that bring together the community. We care for all who call or who have ever called Big Lick home. We strive to be the welcoming, outgoing, and loving heart of the Big Lick community.
youth
Our youth work to realize their own part in God's call to love all people through their devotion in youth gathering and community service. Our youth connect with our oldest generation by visiting members not able to join us for worship on Sundays, and chill out together at least once a month in fellowship.
peace and quiet
Our doors are always open. We welcome anyone who wishes to find solace from the noise of 21st century life into our sanctuary or to rest under our picnic shelter. We only ask you turn off what you turn on, shut the door behind you (wild critters destroy the peace vibe), and clean any mess you make. Our building is free to all seeking peace.
salt and light
Calvary Presbyterian of Big Lick is part of the Salt and Light Movement. We believe that God's love is for all and we have connected with local elementary schools to help provide for the most in need students.
