The Path of the Servant King

He walked among the weary ones

With healing in his hands

A quiet light in dusty streets

The hope of promised lands

He spoke of mercy's open door

Of love that cast out fear

He touched the ones the world ignored

and drew the outcast hear

But love that bends to love that lost

Will bear a heavy cost

The shepherd stepped into the night

to seek the wandering lost

He felt the sting of human hate

The loneliness of paint

The weight of sin, pressed on His brough

Like cold and driving rain

Yet through the cross, a glory rose

No darkness could contain,

The Lamb once stained now stands as Lord

Forever He shall reign

The hands that washed the feet of friends

Now rule with gentle might

The heart that broke upon the cross

Now fills the throne with light

So let our lives reflect His path

The lowly way He trod

For those who walked the road of love

Will rise in joy with God
